The west wing of the Palace was built by Bishop Robert Sherborne (Bishop of Chichester 1508-1536) in about 1530. The ground floor room, now known as the Sherborne Room was the dining room of the Palace and is still used occasionally for this purpose and meetings, large receptions and exhibitions.
