About Young Start-up Talent

Young Start-up Talent (YST) is a community-based project aimed at young entrepreneurs aged between 16 and 25 years old, who are looking to start their own business.

Initially launched in the Gatwick Diamond region in 2010, founding partners Matt Turner and Lorraine Nugent decided to pursue their passion in giving back to the business community - in particular in inspiring and helping young entrepreneurs to start-up their own business. They planned to use the initiative to bring together young enterprise, education and entrepreneurship in a way that had never been done before.

Since then, YST has proved to be a great success, growing rapidly and expanding across the South East, including London, Croydon, Kent, Hampshire and Sussex (including Brighton, Gatwick Diamond and Chichester).

Young Start-up Talent is really proud and honoured to work with over 140 local and national businesses, all of whom contribute to a prize fund to help young entrepreneurs succeed and take their business to the next level. The prize is made up of a range of business products and services, which provides the chosen winner with all the vital support and guidance they need to kick-start their businesses. For example, the prize includes PR,  marketing and design, two years free banking with NatWest, financial and and virtual office space to name a few.

With the continued and growing interest and success of Young Start-up Talent, the team will continue to work hard to ensure every young entrepreneur has the opportunity to start their own business, and pursue their goals.
